In 1999, Congress enacted and the
President signed a new law governing how financial institutions
handle consumers’ personal financial information. Exchange
Bank of Northeast Missouri has always valued its customers’
privacy highly. We have protected your confidential information
in many ways over the years, and we will continue to do so in the
future. We hope to never lose sight of the fact that our customers’
trust is our most important asset. When the new law took effect,
we did not have to make many changes to be fully in compliance.
One of the things we are required to do is to give you this notice
of our policies and practices regarding the disclosure of your nonpublic
personal financial information. This notice does not represent a
change in our long-standing policies regarding the protection of
your confidential information. It only represents a statement of
what those policies are as required by this law.
We collect nonpublic personal information about
you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or other forms;
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates
or others; and
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.
“Nonpublic personal information” is
nonpublic information about you that we may obtain in connection
with providing a financial product or service to you. This could
include information such as account balances, payment history or
overdraft history.
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information
about our customers or former customers to anyone except as permitted
by law.
We may disclose the following information to companies
that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial
institutions with which we have a joint marketing agreement:
- Information we receive from you on an application or other forms,
such as your name, address, social security number, assets and
income;
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates
or others, such as your account balance, payment history, parties
to transactions and credit usage;
- Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such
as your creditworthiness and credit history.
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information
about you to those employees who need to know that information to
provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic
and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to
guard your nonpublic personal information.
